Overview

Ken Combs Pier is a popular shore-fishing location on the Gulfport waterfront overlooking Mississippi Sound. The pier allows anglers to get beyond the immediate beach and cast into productive inshore water without needing a boat.

The surrounding sound supports many of Mississippi’s favorite coastal species. Speckled trout and redfish attract lure anglers, while black drum, sheepshead, whiting, croaker, and catfish provide opportunities for anglers fishing bait near the bottom or around pier structure.

Fishing Tips

Live shrimp can cover several species and can be fished beneath a popping cork or closer to the bottom. Soft-plastic paddle tails are another good choice when actively searching for trout and redfish.
