Who This Pier Is Best For
Beginners, casual anglers, and anyone who prefers calmer water and lighter tackle over surf casting.
Fish Species Commonly Caught
Sheepshead (seasonal), mangrove snapper, jack crevalle, ladyfish, catfish, mullet; occasional redfish and trout in the broader estuary.
Local Insights
Because its protected from surf, its a solid backup pier when the Gulf/Atlantic is rough. Bring polarized glassesspotting bait and current seams helps.
Pier Fishing Tips
Fish pilings and edges with small pieces of shrimp or fiddlers for sheepshead; use a light-to-medium setup to feel subtle bites. A small sabiki can help locate baitfish when theyre present.
Best Times to Fish
Moving water around tide changes; early morning/evening for jacks and mixed action. Cooler months often improve sheepshead and structure bites.
