Overview
Monty Pope Memorial Fishing Dock provides anglers with shore-based access to Lake Taneycomo in the Branson-Hollister area. Lake Taneycomo is one of Missouri’s premier trout fisheries and offers a very different experience from the warm-water reservoirs found throughout much of the state.
Cold water flowing through the system supports rainbow and brown trout, making the dock particularly appealing to anglers who want to fish Taneycomo without using a boat.
Fishing Tips
Light spinning tackle with small jigs, spoons, and other trout-sized presentations is a good starting point. Fly-fishing techniques can also be productive depending on water conditions and the section being fished.
Water generation upstream can change current and depth. Check current conditions and Missouri’s Lake Taneycomo trout regulations before fishing.
Bottom Line
A useful Branson-Hollister fishing dock providing convenient access to one of Missouri’s most popular trout fisheries.
