Overview

Shelburne Bay Access Area provides public fishing and boating access to Shelburne Bay on Lake Champlain. Located just south of Burlington, the access area is a convenient starting point for anglers exploring one of Vermont’s premier freshwater fisheries.

Shelburne Bay provides a mixture of protected water, shoreline structure, and access to the larger lake. Bass, northern pike, yellow perch, and numerous other Lake Champlain species can be found in the surrounding waters.

Fishing Tips

Bass anglers can work soft plastics, tubes, jigs, and crankbaits around rocky areas, vegetation, and changes in depth. Northern pike can be targeted with spoons, spinnerbaits, and swimbaits around weed edges.

For yellow perch, try small jigs or bait presentations closer to the bottom. Shore anglers should keep clear of the active boat-launch lanes and give launching and retrieving boats plenty of room.
