Overview
South Jacomo Lake Pier provides shore-based fishing access from the southern portion of Lake Jacomo near Lee’s Summit. It gives anglers without boats a dedicated place to reach deeper water while enjoying one of the Kansas City area’s established recreational lakes.
Crappie and bluegill make the location approachable for casual anglers and families, while bass and catfish provide opportunities for anglers looking for larger fish.
Fishing Tips
Start by fishing vertically or casting alongside the pier, since shade and underwater structure associated with a pier can attract smaller fish and the predators feeding on them. Small jigs, worms, and other compact presentations are good choices for crappie and panfish.
For bass, cast soft plastics or moving lures beyond the immediate pier area and work them back across changes in depth. Catfish anglers can place bottom rigs in deeper water, particularly toward evening.
Bottom Line
A convenient Lee’s Summit fishing pier for accessing Lake Jacomo and targeting crappie, bass, bluegill, and catfish from shore.
